Dubai - MENA Herald: Senior representatives from Kenya Tourism Board will be participating in the Arabian Travel Market, 2017 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Led by Jacinta Nzioka, the director of marketing of the board, the delegation will seek to leverage on the opportunities that Kenya has to offer in order to tap into key business opportunities within the UAE and the wider GCC region.

Kenya Tourism board seeks to showcase its diverse products and introduce their professional private sector members to offer value added activities and experiential holidays in order to sustainably increase tourism yield and profits. The Kenyan trade will present niche product offers with endless opportunities for culture, incentive, adventure, coast, sports safaris and ecotourism products. These will entrench the positioning of the destination as ideal for Adventure, Wildlife and Cultural safaris.

According to Euromonitor International the number of outbound trips from the UAE increased by 5 per cent last year, bringing the number up to 3.5 million outbound visitors in total. With this surge in growth in the UAE tourism industry, Kenya Tourism Board seeks to delve in to the industry and become a key destination for visitors from the region. The board aims to increase consumer demand for Kenya and grow sales by 10,000 from 18,428 to 28,428 UAE by December 2017. The global consolidated arrivals in to Kenya for 2016 closed at 1,307,351, a 10.4% growth over 2015 that recorded 1,183,847.

Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in its 24th year, is the leading global event for the Middle East inbound and outbound travel industry where the exhibition showcases over 2,800 products and destinations from across the globe, to over 26,000 buyers and 40,000 travel trade visitors.

“We are delighted to be taking part in Arabian Travel Market this year. With our tourism numbers increasing over the past year, the United Arab Emirates presents Kenya with great opportunities to tap into the tourism market here,” says Jacinta Nzioka, the director of marketing, Kenya Tourism Board.

“Kenya enjoys close proximity to the UAE with a less than five hours flight from Dubai to Nairobi and with the Kenyan government introducing waiver of visa fees for children under 16, fee reductions on key tourist attracts and many more incentives in the pipeline, we believe Kenya is the key destination for residents of the UAE to visit.”
Kenya Tourism Board has reached new milestones recently with the newly launched flight route by OmanAir in March, from Muscat to Nairobi, four times a week, lamenting their rapid growth into the GCC market.

Tour operators, hoteliers are among the travel trade promoting diverse tourism products and services at the Kenya stand, showcasing all that country has to offer. Nzioka will be utilizing the platform to reaffirm the growing tourism sector in the country through the continuous efforts of the government introducing incentives.
