Ministry of Health and Prevention reveals successful participation at GITEX 2017

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) reported its successful participation at the 37th edition of GITEX Technology Week (GITEX 2017), an annual consumer computer and electronics trade show, exhibition and conference, that will conclude today(October 12, 2017) at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).During their presence at the event, the Ministry's stand was able to attract a large number of visitors and participants wanting to learn more about MOHAP's diverse portfolio of innovative health services and sustainable smart solutions that have been developed and implemented to bring happiness and satisfaction to customers and patients alike.

His Excellency (H.E.) Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, praised the efforts made by MOHAP leaders and administrative officers who provided an innovative platform for the event, highlighted by digital screens previewing the latest smart health e-services, which also included a special AVP covering the future of health care in both English and Arabic.

Al Ketbi shared that the Ministry's participation this year, which follows the success of their presence at last year's edition, falls in line with their commitment to implement its new strategy for 2017 - 2021, which is aimed towards improving the healthcare system through the introduction of fair, comprehensive and innovative healthcare services that are at par with the highest international standards. The strategic objectives also include the development of health information systems, implement global standards in infrastructure management of health facilities through an integrated and advanced legislative system based on innovation and excellence.

H.E. explained that the MOHAP stand offered a preview of the Ministry's portfolio of advanced technical services and solutions, including the upgraded version of 'Patient Portal,' which provides patients with electronic access to their health records like clinical health information, booking appointments and communication with healthcare providers. The stand also highlighted MOHAP's 'ClinicalKey,' a new service offering efficient and easy access to the latest clinical information based on research and evidences from patients’ conditions. Also featured was the Ministry's ‘Intelligent Patient Education Service,’ which provides patients with a unique experience to access information regarding their health condition based on international standards. The information is provided in multiple languages and supported by illustrations and easy to understand terminologies. MOHAP also showcased ‘VitalLink,’ a service that allows doctors to make decisions based on data and patterns in recorded readings, which will help to reduce misreading human errors.

MOHAP also successfully launched a new electronic import system that has been designed to facilitate and streamline the procedures for corporate customers, providing them an interactive platform to conduct transactions including an electronic payment features and electronic customs clearance. The new system complements the Ministry's efforts to ensure happiness for pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment providers. Additionally, the Ministry also highlighted its other various around-the-clock smart services, which have been developed to ensure the satisfaction of customers while keeping pace with the best international practices. These services include the licensing of private health facilities, private health professions, health advertising, health professional regulations and certification of staff. All the services are provided with the highest international standards.
