Dubai - MENA Herald:

Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R), a leading international provider of premium medical devices and hygiene products, threw the spotlight on the latest innovations in the field of chronic wounds during its presence at this year's edition of Arab Health, the largest healthcare event in the MENA region, which runs from January 28, 2019 to January 31, 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The company, having participated for more than ten times and this year under the slogan 'Invitation to Innovation', showcased new breakthroughs in wound care from wound bed preparation, local wound care to compression. L&R launched its medical technology solutions, Suprasorb CNP P3 and Debrisoft Pad with a pocket – for wound care management in the Arab region. The company's extensive experience in research, development and production of medical devices is seen as key drivers in continuing its strong growth in the Arab world.

According to the company’s senior executives, L&R has already firmly established itself as a professional problem solver in the Arab market with branches in the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. The company has expressed confidence in seeing more growth in the Arab world as a great opportunity to support even more people in the healthcare sector with its varied product solutions.

Wolfgang Süssle, CEO, CCO and President of the L&R Group’s Executive Board, said, “Based on the outstanding quality of our solutions and our customer-focused regional teams, L&R has consistently grown its position in the Arab market in recent years. We are convinced that we will continue on this growth path, supporting healthcare professionals with product solutions and trainings, and thereby ensuring optimal and safe care for more and more patients worldwide.”

The broad portfolio of proven and innovative wound care products is one of the company’s most important business areas. With its extensive expertise in the treatment of chronic wounds, L&R offers solutions for every wound management stage.

Debrisoft, one of the main products showcased on the occasion of Arab Health, ensures gentle removal of debris and exudate from the wound without damaging epithelial cells and newly formed granulation tissue. Debrisoft can even ensure removal of up to 99.9 per cent of biofilm, which can delay or even prevent wound healing. Debrisoft is available as a pad, and also as a lolly for deep wounds. Both versions are not only easy to use but also rapidly achieve visible results and are characterised by a high level of patient acceptance.

Apart from its wide range of wound dressings for moist wound care, L&R also launched an innovation - a new complete negative pressure system, Suprasorb® CNP P3 (Controlled Negative Pressure). Negative pressure wound therapy is often used when assessment of the wound situation indicates that traditional methods of wound care, such as the application of wound dressings, may not be adequate. It is commonly used for acute wounds, infected postoperative wounds, burns and chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers and venous leg ulcers. The beating heart of Suprasorb® CNP therapy is the P3 therapy unit for use in both in- and outpatient setting, which generates the negative pressure.

The company also displayed Rosidal® K, a short-stretch, textile-elastic and skin-friendly bandage that provides compression and is appropriate for strong compression of the extremities under phlebological treatment, as well as for the treatment of acute and chronic lymphoedema. The individually adjustable ReadyWrap compression system with short stretch properties is another crucial product in this area. It is not only easier to use and to apply using colour coding, but also helps patients manage their condition themselves, thereby helping them achieve treatment success on a daily basis.
