Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald:

The sixth edition of the International Franchise Exhibition (IFE) is expected to attract more than 3,000 local, regional and international visitors interested in commercial opportunities in the UAE. Organized by Abu Dhabi Chamber, the exhibition is taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between 16-17 October, 2018.

The UAE is home to one of the largest and most vibrant commercial franchise markets in the MENA region with more than USD $18 billion invested in the sector. The popularity of the sector coincides with a period of record growth in the country, as highlighted by the latest research findings issued at the end of 2017 by the Middle East and North Africa Franchise Association (MENAFA). With a record growth rate of more than 30 percent, the total trade rights of the UAE exceed USD $18 billion (AED 66.25 billion) out of a regional total of USD $30 billion.

Since its foundation, the UAE has witnessed significant economic growth through its steadfast and calculated steps towards long-term, sustainable growth. With international trademarks strengthening their presence within the regional market, local companies are being encouraged to conduct business in new markets outside of the UAE.

H.E. Mohamed Helal Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, highlighted how the IFE has grown over the years, with each edition attracting an increasingly large and diverse range of exhibitors, visitors, and investors. The success of the event is in line with Abu Dhabi Chamber’s ongoing efforts to provide local, regional and international companies with an interactive platform to expand their business and investments in the UAE and the Middle East.

H.E. Al-Muhairi said: “The International Franchise Exhibition has become an important event that empowers local and regional businesses and provides international companies with a platform from which to develop their investment strategies and network with regional experts. The exhibition will showcase the latest innovative and unique concepts from entrepreneurs and SMEs, while also providing attendees with insights about regional trends and opportunities in the sector.”

“The exhibition sheds light on special opportunities for companies and SMEs in the field of franchising. It aims to expand the businesses and investments of participants, and to support entrepreneurs participating in this vital field, in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and our sustainable economic development objectives,” added H.E. Al-Muhairi.

The sixth edition of the IFE provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about a wide range of local and international companies and engage with experts from around the world, including companies operating in the UAE across a diverse range of fields including: tourism, hospitality, trade, health, education, food and beverage, retail, and more.

Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al-Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, emphasized that the decision to host the 2018 IFE at ADNEC provides an ideal opportunity for franchise owners to come together and showcase their business concepts to more than 3,000 visitors from over 16 countries, all in the presence of major international companies and industry experts.

“This world-class exhibition has demonstrated its value to participants since its establishment, and next month the IFE is expected to host around 150 international and local exhibitors representing more than 10 sectors,” said Al-Qubaisi. “The IFE allows investors to enhance their ability to network with each other, which in turn helps them expand their businesses locally, regionally and internationally.”

Al-Qubaisi highlighted that the exhibition will allow local and international investors to explore the most significant concepts, trends, and investment opportunities in the franchise sector.

“The exhibition provides participants with a world-class platform to showcase their offerings and represents a vital networking opportunity for investors looking to expand their businesses locally, regionally and internationally. The IFE also provides a chance for international franchise experts to discuss how to better develop trademarks in the Middle East and how strategic partnerships can contribute to the success of the industry as a whole,” added Al-Qubaisi.

A series of exclusive educational workshops for visitors will be held on the sidelines of the IFE on October 16-17, giving participants the opportunity to learn from and engage with some of the sectors most influential leaders and experts. The workshops are designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed within the world of franchising.

The event’s management also provides a suitable business environment for holding meetings and sessions, providing spaces for exhibitors, visitors and delegates to meet and conduct business meetings.
