The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) held on Wednesday at Expo Centre Sharjah its annual ceremony to honor its staff, the media partners and suppliers. The ceremony was attended by HE Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI, HE Waleed Abdul Rahman Bu Khatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chamber board members and Expo Centre members, HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa’a, CEO of Expo Centre (Sharjah), HE Abdulla Deaifis, Executive Committee Chairman of the Sharjah Centre For International Commercial Arbitration, HE Mohamed Ahmed Amin, Acting Director-General of the SCCI, representatives of the Chamber’s strategic partners, sponsors, staff, media partners and suppliers.
HE Abdallah Sultan Al Owais welcomed the attendees on this occasion, showing his appreciation to the efforts of the Chamber’s distinguished staff and the role of the competent suppliers and sponsors and the cooperation of the media in highlighting the diligent efforts and activities of the Chamber and its affiliate institutions. He stressed that, “2018 was a year of achievements and successes and we look forward to the future with a positive vision, thanks to the common concern to work as one team, and as a result of constant efforts, sincere commitment and positive competition to raise the level of excellence, creativity and innovation in the institutional work system”.Al Owais pointed out that Sharjah Expo Centre, with the support of the Chamber, has succeeded in organizing 54 events in 2018, attracting 2.8 million visitors and looks forward to reaching the goal of 4.5 million in 2019.
Al Owais thanked the staff for their efforts and valuable role in serving the goals of the Chamber and promoting a culture of excellence. He also thanked the media and its representatives for their constructive cooperation in serving the comprehensive development process in Sharjah in particular and the UAE in general. Al Owaisalso thanked the suppliers for their outstanding role in supporting the Chamber and enabling it to pursue its mission efficiently and effectively.

HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa’a pointed out the importance of the annual ceremony which the Chamber and its affiliate institutions are keen to hold annually to consolidate the team work spirit among the staff and achieve the highest levels of loyalty, belonging and job satisfaction, thuscreating an environment of creativity and excellence, and enhancing competencies and positive energies.“The Sharjah Expo Center succeeded to attract and develop qualified national cadres, to provide opportunities for career advancement and create honors for distinguished individuals with innovative ideas”, Al Midfa’a noted.
Al Midfa’a added, “Through our annual event, we aim to strengthen our relationship with our media partners and suppliers, who have actively supported projects and initiatives that contribute to sustainable innovation and achieve the highest standards of performance excellence. Theyrepresent an added value to our efforts towards reaching the best practices in facilitating business growth in the Emirate and enhancing its capabilities to become a prominent destination for economic conferences, exhibitions, international markets, economic and investment promotion, with the potential, infrastructure, legislative and facilities, and the unique investment climate”.
Outstanding Performance Award categories
During the annual ceremony, a presentation was displayed on the achievements of the Sharjah Chamber at the administrative, operational and service levels. The presentation highlighted the role of media partners and suppliers in enhancing the Chamber successful path. The event also featured a special section honoring media professionals and suppliers for 2018.
