Sharjah Chamber Conducts a Workshop in Collaboration with Islamic Chamber

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in collaboration with the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA) and the Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund (PGTF) of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), will organize on Monday a training workshop titled "Entrepreneurship Development through IT for OIC Countries."

The three-day training workshop, which will be held on August 7-9 with the participation of 30 trainees from 18 Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states, aims at contributing to developing entrepreneurship in OIC states and enhancing the capabilities of young entrepreneurs who want to expand their existing projects.

The workshop, which is hosted at the SCCI headquarters, focuses on enhancing the skills of entrepreneurs in Islamic countries in the field of technology which is an essential and influential factor in business and projects.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business at the SCCI, said organizing this workshopis motivated by the Chamber's commitment to supporting the joint efforts of the ICCIA and its member chambers to contribute to enhancing the vital role of the private sector and its developmental effectiveness by developing entrepreneurship in the states of the OIC and improving the capabilities of young entrepreneurs, which would contribute to supporting the development of the Islamic economic system and its communities.

The training workshop discusses the culture of entrepreneur projects in OIC member states, and ways to build this culture, in addition to shedding light on the role of technology in this process. It reviews the basis of planning in business and the use of computer programs and the internet in this field, in addition to mechanisms for market analysis, team-building methods, and analysis of the competition field, in addition to reviewing the best practices of a number of establishments and a presentation by the Young Leaders Network of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF).
