RAK Chamber and Etihad Credit Insurance jointly host workshop to promote RAK as a global hub for manufacturing and exports

Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Etihad Credit Insurance, the UAE Federal credit insurance company, jointly organised a workshop for the export community to provide a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the emirate of RAK’s rising profile as a regional and global hub for manufacturing and exports in the country.

The workshop opened with keynote addresses by H.E. Mohamed Hasan Al Sabab, Director-General, RAK Chamber; and Massimo Falcioni Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Credit Insurance that highlighted the potential of RAK and what it has to offer to UAE business and export community. This was followed by an insightful presentation on understanding ECI’s mandate and solutions. The spotlight of the workshop was the highly interactive panel Q&A headed by senior ECI officials, a legal expert and a representative from the export community that focused on discussing timely and relevant topics related to contributing to the country’s non-oil diversification goals as well as augmenting trade and export activities between local and global companies.

H.E. Mohamed Hasan Al Sabab, Director-General, RAK Chamber said: “RAK Chamber works towards enhancing the business environment sustainability within the Emirate by supporting the relationship between its members and the business communities at large. Our partnership with ECI will advance RAK’s growth by supporting exporters and entrepreneurs in their contribution to the country’s economy. This workshop serves as the perfect platform for RAK Chamber to take this dialogue on sustaining exports and raising the foreign trade potential of the Emirate to the next level.”

Exports from Rak chamber members reached AED7.903 billion in 2018. exports varied between many products, including stone, plaster, cement, ceramics and glass products.
