MBRSG Wraps Up Preparations for the “Future Trip” Field Trip to Japan

The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has finalised preparations for the last station of the “Future Trip program” that was launched last February, which includes sending senior Dubai Government officials to Japan between September 25 and October 1, 2017.

The visit aims to identify Japanese success stories in various sectors related to government management, smart technologies and sustainable development, and to allow participants to engage in a series of world-renowned lectures and conferences, exchange experiences and opinions and review creative ideas and innovative solutions to overcome potential challenges.

H.E. Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, said: “Organising the Future Trip to Japan is a testament to MBRSG’s commitment to achieving the strategic goal of building the next generation of future leaders through integrated programmes that enrich the knowledge and practical skills of the participants. The initiative offers them the opportunity to closely view the latest applied sciences in the field of governmental work, smart technologies, and sustainable development. These can be adopted locally to enhance the UAE’s leading position in the field of government work. The visit will also enable the participants to open channels of communication with an array of heavyweight global institutions.”

The trip includes attending the international conference titled “Towards Smart Economies / Smart Cities – [UAE & Japan]”, which brings together speakers from around the world to discuss challenges related to different sectors, as well as their impact on economy. Through a group of experienced speakers, the conference showcases technologies and practices essential to the process of transitioning into a smart and knowledge-based economy.

The visit includes several destinations in the Japanese capital of Tokyo, including a visit to the Innovation Day event, which sheds light on the latest technological innovations across international markets, such as digital systems, infrastructure development tools, software and technology tools. Furthermore, participants will visit the smart city of Toyota and several other museums of smart cities that offer innovative models of future smart cities.
