The Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) sector in the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai is partnering with e25, Emaar’s in-house innovation lab, to provide privileges and facilities for holders of DED Trader licences via Letswork, the first start-up launched out of e25.
As per the agreement, Letswork will provide DED Trader licence holders with marketing, administrative and organisational support by offering access to its spaces, workshops and SME network. DED Trader license holders will be eligible for exclusive discounts for Letswork’s membership packages, allowing them to work on their businesses at Letswork’s 20 co-working locations across Dubai.
The DED Trader team in BRL will coordinate with Letswork to communicate directly with the DED Trader licence owners to translate their innovative project ideas into a reality and therby contribute to economic development in Dubai. Both entities will also carry out cross-promotional activities to highlight the services and benefits they each offer to DED Traders.
Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Director of e25 and Managing Director of Emaar Properties, and Omar Bushahab, CEO of BRL, signed the MoU. Omar AlMheiri and Hamza Khan, co-founders of Letswork, attended the signing ceremony.
Omar Bushahab said: “DED Trader is among the many qualitative additions brought in by the Department of Economic Development to support the smart transition of the emirate’s economy and offer a wider field for young and aspiring entrepreneurs. The agreement with Letswork helps us strengthen public-private co-operation to support the youth who can play an important role in driving the growth of the local economy. It will contribute to Dubai’s vision to build a diversified and flexible economy driven by skilled Emirati talent and strengthen Dubai's position as a global centre for innovation and youth entrepreneurship.”

The agreement reflects the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote youth entrepreneurship and a culture of innovation,” said Al Matrooshi.
