Dubai - MENA Herald:

The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a research and academic institution focusing on governance and public policy in the Arab world, has launched the Internal Management Consultant Program.

The new project falls under the Fourth Generation of Government Excellence System (4GES), launched by the cabinet to train the national workforce according to the highest international standards, and produce a generation of capable and empowered leaders who can further develop the UAE Government and increase its competitiveness on a global level.

The Internal Management Consultant Program is the first of its kind in the UAE, developed by MBRSG’s own Emirates Center for Government Knowledge (ECGK). It enables experienced government employees to provide advanced administrative counsel to their respective organisations, training them to grasp the fundamentals of management consultancy, in addition to helping them hone their own professional skills.

“The Program offers a dedicated educational platform that allows us to transfer our accumulated experience and knowledge of management consultancy to support the Government’s plans, as directed by our wise leadership,” said MBRSG’s Executive President His Excellency Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri. “The programme also helps us establish a culture of everyday excellence within government departments. We are committed to the leadership’s directives and will continue to play our part in supporting the UAE’s plans, contributing to its achievements and establishing it as a global role model for innovation in government and institutional work.”

On a similar note, Mohammed Hassan Al Khatib, Director of the Emirates Center for Government Knowledge, reiterated that the Internal Management Consultant Program is the first nation-wide project that seeks to improve performance and know-how in management consultancy. The programme was developed in collaboration with partners and experts, Al Khatib explained, noting that it includes an intensive training course that familiarises aspiring consultants with success stories and major consultancy projects, improving their skills and boosting overall government performance.

Phase one of the programme consists of the nomination and selection process. MBRSG is preparing to open registration soon and announce the requirements necessary for candidates – individuals or institutions – to apply via the website mbrsg.ae. An expert committee will then shortlist and interview potential candidates.

In the second phase, participants will undergo an intensive five-day training regimen, where they will familiarise themselves with the rules and fundamentals of the profession, as well as the required skillsets, tools and applications in the field of management consulting. Participants will be asked to submit feasible work plans and perform specific consultancy projects, all under the supervision of ECGK consultants.Successful applicants then receive their certificates in the third and final phase of the programme.
