Khalifa University of Science and Technology Among Top 250 Engineering and Technology Universities Worldwide and Top in the UAE

After about a month since its last ranking as the top in the UAE in the widely respected Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2018, Khalifa University of Science and Technology has once again achieved top ranking in the UAE and third in the Arab World in the most recent 2018 THE subject rankings in ‘Engineering and Technology’, which was released yesterday.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology is placed in the 201-250 band out of 500 engineering and technology educational institutes from all around the world. The ranking employs the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology prides itself with the inclusion of capabilities of renowned academic and research institutions such as Masdar Institute and Petroleum Institute. Both institutions continue to contribute to the advancement of scientific research at the University, which in turn helps the university to achieve high rankings, locally, regionally and globally.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology focuses on a number of key sectors through its research activities, including clean and renewable energy, water and environment, oil and gas exploration and production, aerospace, healthcare, information and communication technologies, robotics and advanced materials and manufacturing. The university offers twelve bachelors, twenty-two masters, and seven doctoral programs.

Khalifa University has previously made the list of top 100 universities under 50 years of age, as the youngest university in the world in that list, according to QS.  It has also ranked top in the UAE in the QS World University Ranking 2016, top in the Arab World according to THE emerging world and BRICS universities ranking and in the top 80 in THE Asia University Rankings.
