Sunday 20 December 2015

Dubai - MENA Herald: The Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), the Middle East’s most comprehensive education and training event, is returning this year at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center with new major features and wider opportunities for international education and training providers to connect with regional students seeking to explore valuable study options. The show, which has been dubbed as the region’s leading education show opened in Dubai amid the UAE’s exponential student population growth, will run from April 13 to 15, 2016 under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.

GETEX annually attracts over 35,000 learners planning to enroll in higher education study programs and provides students and parents with an ideal platform for face-to-face interactions with global education providers. Such strategic meetings enable them to discuss course options and admission policies as well as explore campus features that can lead to on-the-spot decisions and submission of student applications. The event also offers renowned colleges, universities and other educational institutions access to a wider demographic of student groups and relevant networking opportunities for meaningful trend and course profile discussions.

Anselm Godinho, Managing Director of International Conferences & Exhibitions, the event’s organizer, said: “In line with its primary objective of providing course information and recruiting students, GETEX 2016 continues the legacy that has been built for over 27 years of successfully staging the region’s most prestigious education show.  Over the course of three days, this year’s exhibition will strategically link higher education providers from at least 45 countries to various student communities in the region, thus providing them an opportunity to achieve and even surpass their respective student registration targets for the next academic year. We have organized GETEX to be in sync with the school academic calendars in the UAE and the rest of the Arab World for this purpose and more.”

“Moreover, most students find GETEX highly valuable and highly informative in terms of furthering their study options. The exhibition showcases courses for high school students looking for an undergraduate education, mature learners seeking post-graduate or professional education, and other individuals wishing to enroll in training programs to boost their career advancement prospects. Needless to say, the opportunities this 2016 are immense and highly significant.”

Two new segments will be introduced this year, namely the University Panel Discussions and Q&A and the Professional Development Information Exchange. The former allows for school students, counsellors and faculty members to participate in a series of panel discussions and Q&A sessions, while the latter features open forums led by industry human resource professionals. The open forums are designed to address queries from post-graduate students seeking direction and advice on career development.

GETEX 2016 will also showcase the Counsellors Forum, which will includes a series of institutional presentations and discussions by role models in the student counsellor fraternity. The objective of the program is to help fellow counsellors as they source and research information pertinent to their students’ career goals.

This edition of GETEX will engage learners on various platforms with the objective to ensure that they make an informed decision on their higher education options.

“During GETEX 2015, exhibitors generated unprecedented on-the-spot applications and elicited back-to-back student inquiries with the highest probabilities of conversions. Several leading universities and academic institutions acknowledged the positive impact the event had on their brand strategy in establishing strong relations with target audiences, particularly parents and students from across the region. We look forward to exceeding these achievements this 2016 by opening up more substantial opportunities that will benefit education and training providers as well as learners and their parents,” concluded Godinho.
