Souq Al Haraj reports a growth in car export to African markets

Souq Al Haraj for Cars, a project by Sharjah Asset Management – an investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, is seeing an increasing demand from African dealers, particularly from Sudan, the largest African exporter of automobile from Souq Al Haraj. The average daily number of car export transactions to Sudan ranges from 30 to 40 and the average weekly number of the same ranges from 200 to 250 transactions. Nigeria, Congo, Benin. Ethiopia. Ghana. Mauritania and Madagascar is second followed by Guinea, South Africa, Djibouti, Tanzania, Kenya, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Libya on third.

A recent report issued by Tasjeel Village and Sharjah Police reported an increase in demand for light vehicles with an average monthly growth rate of 42 percent.

The demand for light vehicle has increased in 2019, according to a recent report issued by Tasjeel Village and Sharjah Police. Increase in demand for heavy and medium vehicle was calculated at 42 percent in the first quarter of 2019, compared to 37 percent growth in demand for light vehicle for the same period. The Souq is relatively busy between 4-9 pm and closes daily at 10:00 pm.

Majed Al Mualla, Manager of Souq Al Haraj for Cars, stressed the importance of growth in car export to the African markets, confirming the ability of Souq Al Haraj for Cars in Sharjah to meet the demands from African markets.
